The department of Geography pays for and administers the ESRI/CHEST ArcMap site license option 3.


Availability for Geography Staff & Students

Academic Staff, Postgraduate Research, Postgraduate Taught and Dissertation Students should contact the Departments Information Technician directly for installation details & availability.

All Undergraduates should use the open access computer labs on campus, Geography Undergraduates also have exclusive access to the departments computer lab NN117 when it is not being used for classes (check timetable outside the door).

Availability for all other users

Academic, Research & Postgraduate Research Staff:
Individual ArcGIS Licenses are available to university staff members by filling in the license request form below. There is an annual contribution of £50 per PC, payable by internal transfer (ITV), once this has been processed you will be sent a license file valid for 12 months.

ArcINFO is subject to availability as the existing agreement only allows 10 licenses. 5 of these ArcINFO Licenses are available to members of the University by filling in the license request form below. There is an annual contribution of £100 per PC, payable by internal transfer (ITV), once this has been processed you will be sent a license file valid for 12 months.

Postgraduate Taught & Undergraduate Students:
Please use the sofware in one of the open access computer labs on campus.
